Sam Allardyce makes plea to English clubs

Veteran manager Sam Allardyce has called upon Premier League clubs to hire more British managers.

Allardyce meanwhile has been linked with the vacant Everton managerial position. The Toffees have been without a manager since Ronald Koeman was sacked as manager two weeks ago.

Since then David Unsworth has taken temporary charge of the club. Though Unsworth is linked with the managerial position on a full-time basis, it will be rather surprising if they acquire him on a permanent basis considering that the club has lost all three of their games under him so far.

Speaking on Match of the day, Allardyce told Gary Lineker: “It’s always time an English manager was given the chance, as far as I’m concerned Gary, or a British manager – there’s no doubt about that. And there’s not enough of us given the chance.
