Celtic defender Mikael Lustig has revealed that he feels that his side can win the Europa League as long as they play as well as they did against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Though the Hoops ended up losing the game 2-1 against the German giants, they fought well and were competitive throughout against arguably Germany’s best team.
Lustig was happy with the way that his team played on the night and he does not see a reason as to why they cannot win the Europa League should Celtic play a similar brand of football in that tournament as they played against Munich.
He said: “Yes [we have a chance] – as long as we turn up in the manner we did at home to Bayern,” “We know we’ll be hard to beat and then we can see what happens after that.
“Of course, one of the goals was to be in Europe after the winter break and it looks quite good for that. We want to go further and get better.”
