Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has urged current Burnley boss Sean Dyche to take the Everton managerial vacancy. Everton have been without a manager since last week after they parted ways with Ronald Koeman.
Dyche has been strongly linked with the post due to the impressive things which he has done as Burnley manager during the past five years. Carragher believes that the 46 year old should take up the chance to manage Everton as he may never get a better opportunity in the future.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Carragher said: “If he has been – or gets offered – the Everton job, he has to take it. Maybe Burnley fans watching this tonight don’t want to hear that, but he has to. Sean Dyche won’t go to a team in the Champions League in this country. Everton are the next step.”
It does remain to be seen whether Dyche will be willing to leave the Clarets at this point. He will be aware that it will not be taken lightly by fans.
