As per the Mirror, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is already preparing for the future and is identifying teenage targets that will become the next crops of his first-team stars at Anfield.
It is said that the German had scouts at the recently-concluded under-17 World Cup, and Mexican prodigy Diego Lainez did enough to impress them.
The attacking midfielder was one of the best performers in Group F, scoring a brace in a 3-2 loss to England.
At 17, Lainez is already a senior team player for Club America after playing his way into the squad last season.
The winger is also attracting Villareal, but could get tempted to make the move to Merseyside once he decides to switch to European football.
Reason being that, Klopp is known for his love of molding youngsters and handing them first-team opportunities, with Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic his most standout of success stories.
The likes of Ben Woodburn and Trent Alexander-Arnold are also emerging at Anfield, and alongside under-17 World Cup hero and Liverpool’s youth player Rhian Brewster, Lainez could become the next best thing to come out of Klopp’s line of stars production if a move is sealed in the nearest future.
