Mohamed Salah to pay the price after Huddersfield blunder

Mohamed Salah may have already lost his job as penalty kicker for Liverpool after manager Jurgen Klopp admitted that he is unsure of whether the Egyptian will continue to take the penalties for his side after missing during their 3-0 win against Huddersfield this weekend.

The Reds won a spot-kick during the first half with Salah stepping up to take it. Terriers goalkeeper Jonas Lossl however managed to pull off an easy save from a shot which looked to be too central.

While speaking about giving Salah the job of taking penalties, Klopp replied saying: “I thought it made sense after the Egypt penalty – obviously the pressure is bigger in Liverpool than in Egypt to qualify for the World Cup!”

When commenting on whether the player will continue to take penalties, he replied: “I’m not sure that he is anymore… I think Daniel would have been a safe number in this group of players.”

Salah’s miss did not prove to be too costly though as Daniel Sturridge, Roberto Firmino and Gini Wijnaldum were all on target to give the Merseyside club a convincing 3-0 win.
