Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has said that fans of the club must not get to happy following their encouraging form this season.
The Magpies are so far exceeding expectations having taken 14 points from nine games heading into their match against Burnley on Monday.
Despite the encouraging form, Benitez has said that he will not assess his clubs form during the first half of the season and wait until early 2018 to do so with games against the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal still to come.
Benitez said: “We have had some games where maybe we deserved more. It could be even better, but we have to wait until January to see our potential. By January, we will have played all the top sides. We have to wait a bit before we’re too happy.”
Benitez is perhaps correct as a club’s form can change drastically during the two phases of the season.
