According to reports, Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye is on the verge of penning a new long-term deal with the club. He is expected to be offered a new deal which will be in excess of £75,000-a-week.
Despite the Toffees enduring a poor season thus far, Gueye has established himself as a key player within the squad after arriving at the club last season from Aston Villa.
The deal was most likely offered as Gueye had attracted interest from rival clubs due to the good performances which he had been churning out in the Premier League for the Toffees. This is definitely good news from a Toffees perspective.
The 28 year old is now at the peak of his career and can be dynamic in midfield on his good days. His performances have even led some to drawing comparisons between himself and N’Golo Kante of Chelsea.
