Newcastle United are interested in signing Besiktas star Cenk Tosun for a reported £18 million during the upcoming January transfer window, according to Sports Illustrated.
Newcastle United already have sufficient options up-front in attacker due the presence of the likes of Dwight Gayle, Joselu and Aleksandar Mitrovic, but it looks like manager Rafa Benitez is dissatisfied by his forwards inability to get goals on a consistent basis and is looking for a new options up front.
According to Sports Illustrated, it has now been revealed that Newcastle have identified Besiktas star Cenk Tosun as the ideal target to pursue in January and it has to be said that the 26-year-old will definitely offer better finishing quality than the players already at St. James Park.
Tosun is a player of the highest caliber and his ability was on show against the French Champions Monaco in the Champions League recently, where he scored a brace.
Should Newcastle be able to lure Tosun for as little as £18 million, it will be a coup for the recently promoted side.
