Newcastle Untied are interested in acquiring the services of Sampdoria playmaker Dennis Praet in the January transfer window, according to HITC Sports.
Newcastle have been trailing Praet since the summer transfer window but the Magpies failed to land the Belgian international after struggling to raise the required funds in time to get the deal done.
After enjoying an inspirational start to the Premier League campaign, it looks like the Newcastle will be getting new owners soon and they will surely look to provide extra funds to manager Rafa Benitez in order to enable him to sign players such as Praet in the January transfer window.
Newcastle already possess the likes of Jonjo Shelvey and Mikel Merino pulling the strings from midfield but Praet will bring in variety along with a new challenge at the middle of the park for the Magpies.
It is believed that Sampdoria are unwilling to sell Praet during the January transfer window but as the playmaker has a release clause of £18 million Newcastle will have the upper hand in any potential transfer bid.
