RB Leipzig Sporting director Ralf Rangnick has claimed that Naby Keita is a better player than his soon to be Liverpool team-mate Sadio Mane.
Liverpool managed to strike a deal with Leipzig to sign Keita for £60 million and he will arrive at Anfield at the end of the season.
The Guinea international was highly impressive last season as he helped Leipzig surprisingly finish the Bundesliga in second position and qualify for the Champions League.
Rangnick is also familiar with Mane having been installed at Leipzig when the Senegal international was on the books of the club before he was sold to Southampton in 2014.
He has now hinted that Keita is a better player than Mane and said: “He’s one of the best I’ve worked with in 20 years of professional football. I’d also prefer, 10 times, that we’d kept him for another five years – but we are just not able to pay salaries in excess of €10m.”
