Tottenham set to ramp up pursuit of England international in January

According to a report published by The Daily Mirror, Tottenham are set to step up their interest in signing Everton midfielder Ross Barkley in January, despite the fact that the player has been injured all season.

Mauricio Pochettino is concerned about his midfield considering that Victor Wanyama and Moussa Dembele are both sidelined and Pochettino is aware that he will have to limit the involvement of Dembele due to the players tendency of getting injured.

Barkley’s current deal at Goodison Park is set to expire at the end of the season and January will present Ronald Koeman’s side with a final opportunity to cash in on a sale.

Spurs were linked with a move for the 23 year old during the summer transfer window though nothing materialized as Chelsea attempted to sign him at the last minute.

Barkley is however reported to be keen to move to Spurs as he looks to kick-start his career.
