Portuguese manager Paulo Fonseca has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with struggling Everton tipped to be the most likely destination for the current Shakhtar Donetsk boss.
Everton are currently struggling in both domestic and European competitions as manager Ronald Koeman has failed to make his expensively assembled squad perform to their true abilities.
While the Toffees’ players have underperformed, the poor start has been largely pinned on Koeman and this has led many to suggest that the Dutch manager will be sacked soon.
There are already a host of names that have been touted as potential replacements for Koeman and one of the candidates suggested as a possible successor to the Dutchman at Goodison Park is former Porto manager Paulo Fonseca.
The Portuguese tactician has enjoyed an impressive spell with the likes of Braga in Portuguese league and Shakhtar in the Ukrainian league in recent years, leading the latter to a treble in his debut season at the club.
Such exploits have made Fonseca one of the hottest prospects in European football and the next big managerial export from the Iberian Peninsula could end up at Everton soon if Koeman gets the boot.
