Everton captain Phil Jagielka has revealed that he is hoping to be recalled this Sunday when his side takes on Brighton and Hove Albion in a Premier League game.
The 35 year old has had to miss the last four matches due to a hamstring injury and he could be given an opportunity during the weekend considering that Ashley Williams is currently on a run of poor form.
Jagielka said, “The injury is all good now. The Burnley game (which Everton lost 1-0) came a day or two too early, but with the international break, hopefully training will go well and I will be pushing for selection.”
After taking just several points from their opening several Premier League games, there is a lot of pressure on the Toffees side as well as manager Ronald Koeman.
They will be aiming for nothing less than a win during the weekend and should they lose the game, it will be very concerning.
