Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez makes big admission about his future

According to reports, Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez is happy to stay at the club beyond his current contract.

Recent rumors have suggested that the former Chelsea and Liverpool boss could end up leaving the Magpies in the near future, especially as he publically expressed his frustration at the club’s board for failing to grant him sufficient funds to make squad developments this summer.

He has now recently revealed that he may consider signing an extension at St James Park, saying, “I’m very happy here and I love the city. It reminds of Liverpool because of the people.

“Scousers and Geordies are very similar. They work hard during the week and want to support their team.”

Benitez has so far done an impressive job at the helm of the club and in only his first full season at the club, guided them to the Championship title last season.

It will be a major coup if Newcastle manage to keep Benitez on as manager for the long-term, considering that he is regarded as one of the best managers of this generation.
