Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho has said that he will do his best for the team following a summer full of uncertainty.
The Brazil international Coutinho was a top target of Barcelona during the summer transfer window and the Spanish giants had a £120 million offer rejected by Liverpool during the summer.
Coutinho was keen to move to Barcelona and handed in a transfer request. Following the breakdown of the move, there were doubts as to whether he would remain a committed member of the Reds first team this season.
The 25-year-old however appears to be as motivated as ever and scored his second goal in two games as the Reds drew 1-1 with Spartak Moscow in the Champions League on Tuesday.
When commenting on his current state of mind, Coutinho said, “I’m calm. It’s all passed by, I’m here to defend the colours, to give my maximum.”
Coutinho will likely be a key player for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season.
