According to reports, Atletico Madrid striker Kevin Gameiro is a target of Everton. The Toffees have failed to find an experienced replacement for Romelu Lukaku who joined Manchester United during the summer.
Though they did sign Sandro Ramirez from Malaga, the Spanish international has so far failed to score and will need time to adapt to the demands of English football.
The 30-year-old Gameiro has developed a reputation for being a goal machine having scored 67 times from 144 games for Sevilla while he scored 16 times from 42 games for Atletico last season.
The return of Diego Costa to Atleti could push Gameiro down the pecking order at the club and he may consider leaving in January.
The Toffees have been below par in terms of their attack so far this season and should they manage to sign Gameiro, it will be a major coup for them.
