After falling down the pecking order at Everton goalkeeper Joel Robles has confirmed that he will be leaving the club either at the end of the season or sooner should an offer come in during the January transfer window.
Despite being first choice keeper for the Toffees during the second half of last season, Robles is currently third in line at the club behind first choice Jordan Pickford and Dutchman Maarten Stekelenburg.
Pickford has been used in all the team’s Premier League fixtures while Stekelenburg was given starts during the Europa League and Carabao Cup fixtures.
This has frustrated the Spanish international Robles and he has confirmed that he will be leaving the Merseyside club by saying, “I am in my last year of my contract at Everton and this will surely be my last season at Everton because I made the decision not to renew.
“It’s been a complicated season but this is football. These situations happen. You have to be calm, keep fighting and wait for the opportunity. It is not easy but I have to be patient.”
