Liverpool defender Joel Matip has backed Jurgen Klopp to lead the club going forward.
Klopp and the team have come under criticism during recent weeks due to the slow start that they have made to the season.
Their defensive woes have already cost them valuable points in the Premier League, Champions League and also led to their elimination from the Carabao Cup at the hands of Leicester City this week.
The Cameroon international Matip however insists that the style of play under Klopp is right for the club and he added that the players of the club need to work harder in order to improve the club’s defence.
He said, “Both parts only work together. I cannot stand at the back and our attackers go forward and there is so much big space.
“We all have to fit together. It is not always easy but this is our way of play but I think that is a good way of playing.”
