Ex-Everton star sends touching message to the Toffees’ faithful

Sunderland striker James Vaughn has revealed that he was touched by the reception that he received from Toffees fans during their 3-0 win over the Black Cats in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

The game also marked the first time that Vaughn played at Goodison Park since played for the Toffees in a game against Sunderland in January 2010.

Though the Black Cats ended up losing the game 3-0, they were expected to lose against Premier League opposition and the loss is nothing that they should be ashamed of. Vaughn has now revealed that he was taken aback by the reception that was given to him by fans of his former club.

He took to social media platform Twitter to express his gratitude and stated, “Result aside I really enjoyed going back to @Everton last night! Thanks to all the fans for the great reception It meant the world to me.”
