Everton manager Ronald Koeman has hinted that striker Oumar Niasse will not feature for the club during their game against Bournemouth this weekend, despite the fact that the player netted against Sunderland in a Carabao Cup encounter on Wednesday.
The Senegal international Niasse’s performance against the Black Cats led to many fans calling for him to be given more opportunities especially as the team have been lacking quality up front.
Niasse managed to score an impressive goal during the game by using his chest to control a ball from a cross before completing a neat finish.
Koeman has revealed that Niasse is part of his plans for the near future but did hint that the player may not feature this weekend due to other options available.
He said, “Yes he is (in my plans), that’s not changed (because of) yesterday. Because he’s part of the team, he had (an) opportunity to be on the bench yesterday. He came on in the second half, he scored a great goal.
“Of course, he is in my mind for the weekend. But I have 29 players, that means we have some injuries, but still some players are not selected for the weekend. Every weekend these are tough decisions.”
