Liverpool boss Klopp makes a huge admission about Philippe Coutinho

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he expects Philippe Coutinho to return to action as soon as possible.

The Brazilian international has not played for the Reds all season and was strongly linked with a summer move to Spanish giants Barcelona.

He also handed in a transfer request to the Merseyside club in order to try and make a transfer happen. Liverpool however ended up insisting that they will not sell the player and went on to reject numerous offers from the Catalan giants.

Coutinho did not play during his sides 5-0 loss at the hands of Manchester City this weekend but he could be set to return during his side’s Champions League encounter against Sevilla on Wednesday.

Whilst discussing why the 25 year old Coutinho did not feature against City, Klopp said,  “It was a decision made with the season in mind. He came back from a long flight, after two substitute appearances and three weeks without training.

“We play on Wednesday, we play on Saturday, we play, play, play, play, play. I will have the situation all the time now over the next three or four weeks.

“We thought it best to give him three or four days proper training and then he’ll be available for us, which is very good news. Phil is a fantastic player, and hopefully we can use him as quickly as possible.”
