Liverpool star Sadio Mane has issued an apology for a collision with Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson during his side’s 5-0 defeat against the Citizens on Saturday.
Mane was given his marching orders following a collision with Ederson during the first half and following a lengthy stoppage following the incident, the goalkeeper was replaced by Claudio Bravo.
City were leading 1-0 at the time of the incident and Liverpool subsequently went on to lost the match 5-0.
The red card to Mane will be a massive blow to Jurgen Klopp’s side as he is a key part of their side and currently one of the best players in the Premier League, having won the Player of the month award for August.
The Senegal international however does not have a reputation for being an aggressive or violent player. After the game, he took to social media platform Instagram to issue an apology to Ederson.
