Liverpool African duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane were in fine form for Egypt and Senegal respectively during Tuesday’s CAF’s World Cup qualifiers.
Both grabbed a goal, with Salah’s strike proving the difference in a 1-nil defeat of Uganda, while Mane scored the 2nd during the 2-2 stalemate against Burkina Faso.
As a result, the Reds wingers helped put their countries another step closer to Russia 2018 with 2 more games to go.
Egypt top Group E with 9 points – 2 points ahead of 2nd placed Uganda, while Senegal are a point behind both Burkina Faso and Cape Verde in a Group D that’s still very much open, as bottommost South Africa are just 2 points behind the joint-leaders.
Salah and Mane have also both been in fine form for Liverpool, scoring and assisting 6 times between them in 3 Premier League games thus far.
They are the main stars of their countries, so it’s no surprise that they are spearheading their side’s World Cup ambitions.
Mane has 14 goals in 47 games for the Lions of Teranga, while Salah – Liverpool Player of the Month and Goal of the Month scorer for August has now scored 30 goals in 55 games for the Pharaohs.
The performances of the Merseyside speedsters attracted praises on Twitter, and here are some of the best reactions.

How long before rival fans start to accept that Sadio Mané is genuinely one of the best players in the league?
