Despite uncertainty surrounding his future, Ross Barkley has been included in the Everton squad that will compete in the Europa League.
Barkley has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park after refusing the chance to sign a new contract at the club last season.
The Toffees had been hoping to sell him before deadline day and accepted a bid from Chelsea; however it was the player who decided against the move at the last minute.
The England international Barkley underwent groin surgery during the summer and also suffered a torn hamstring which will keep him out of action for a month.
Though the 23-year-old will be expected to leave the Merseyside club in January, he is likely to now play a role in the clubs Europa League campaign and could play in games against the likes of Atalanta, Lyon and Apollon Limassol between now and the end of the year.
