£26million man backs Frank De Boer to succeed at Crystal Palace

Mamadou Sakho has backed his new club Crystal Palace to keep under fire manager Frank de Boer.

After being deemed surplus to requirements at former club Liverpool, the French international Sakho made a permanent switch to Palace on deadline day for £26 million but he has joined  a Palace side in complete disarray at the moment.

The club’s manager Frank De Boer has come under strong criticism, as they have lost all three of their Premier League games thus far and failed to register a point.

Should the team not gain points from their upcoming matches, de Boer could become the first manager to be sacked this season.

Sakho however insisted that the club needs to be patient with the Dutchman and said, “I think we also have a really good manager with a lot of experience.

“He has a new football mentality and we have a great squad so we just need to work hard, and I think that everything will be better soon.

“I am really excited about playing for the Palace fans again, but in football the past is the past and you need to think about today and tomorrow.

“Last year we did a good job and we need to prove that again and have a good objective. If we put all of our power together, we will have a great season.”

He spent the second half of last season on loan with the Eagles and was impressive as he helped the team to avoid relegation.

Palace fans will now be hoping that Sakho can replicate his form from last season which helped the club avoid relegation.
