Celtic’s move for South African sensation Rivaldo Coetzee has fallen through. The youngster was expected to join the Scottish giants from Ajax Cape Town.
However whilst undergoing a medical, it was confirmed that he had an underlying problem with his right foot which prevented a move from going ahead.
The two clubs were unable to conclude a decision as a result of this and the player will now return to Ajax for further assessment.
While the Cape Town based club were not aware that the player had a problem, they will assist him in ensuring that he makes a full recovery.
Despite the setback, Coetzee has not missed any matches for club or country and it remains to see what will now happen.
Coetzee is a talented youngster who made his debut at the age of 17 for the South African national team and he does arguably have what it takes to succeed in Europe if he can get himself to full fitness.
