Everton reportedly ready to splash as much as £40million to sign 30-year-old attacker

According to reports, Jamie Vardy is a potential target of Everton, with the Toffees reportedly willing to pay up to £40 million to lure the England international.

Ronald Koeman’s side are currently without an experienced striker after losing Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United this summer. Though they do have Sandro Ramirez within the ranks, the youngster is untested at Premier League level.

The Spain under-21 international Sandro’s inexperience also showed itself when he was unable to pose a threat during the Toffees 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on Sunday.

Vardy has plenty of experience under his belt and could be a good signing for Koeman’s club.

He will also bring in a winning mentality to the Merseyside club having played a key role in terms of helping the Toffees to shock the World by winning the Premier League title during the 2015-16 season. It remains to be seen if this move will materialize.
