Chris Sutton has revealed that the lack of centre back options at Celtic worries him. The Hoops have been hit by injuries to their centre backs this season.
As a result of Dedryck Boyata, Jozo Simunovic and Erik Sviatchenko being unavailable, the club has had to use midfielder Nir Bitton and Mikael Lustig to fill in.
Celtic’s lack of centre-back options have seemingly cost them during their past two weeks as they were held to a 1-1 draw by St Johnstone this weekend and also lost 4-3 against FC Astana in a Champions League qualification encounter during midweek.
Brendan Rodgers team that been hoping to bring in South African sensation Rivaldo Coetzee to fill in but it now appears that a move for the youngster has fallen through.
The Scottish giants will now need to aim to sign a new centre back before the transfer window ends on Thursday.
Sutton has now revealed revealed that he is worried about the current situation at the club and said, “They need to make numerous signings. Coetzee failed the medical, the centre-back situation is deeply worrying for me at Celtic.”
