Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez makes admission about transfer plans

Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has claimed that his club are still looking to sign more players.

The Magpies claimed their first points and win of the season on Saturday by claiming a 3-0 win over West Ham.

Benitez said after the game, “They know exactly what we are talking about in terms of targets, players going out because we have too many. Hopefully we can do this.

“Nothing changed after the first two games, or even the first three games, nothing has changed now. We have a clear idea of what we want to do and we will try to do it.

“I don’t know if we can do everything but we will try to. Normally whenever you win you are happy. In the way we won here and the performances of the players, the connection between players and fans, it makes you very happy.”

Benitez has made no secret of the fact that he wants to bolster his side with new signings over the past few weeks. He has even publically criticized the Magpies board for failing to provide him with sufficient capital to make new signings.

The win over West Ham United would have certainly given Newcastle a much needed confidence boost following their disappointing start to the season. They next play against Swansea City after the international break.
