Everton defender Ashley Williams has claimed that Wayne Rooney is keen to win big things with the team.
Rooney returned to his boyhood club this summer following a successful 13 year spell with Manchester United. Since arriving at the Merseyside club, the 31-year-old Rooney has regained top form.
Last week the striker announced that he has retired from international football and this will allow him more time to focus on club football.
Now Ashley Williams gone on to state that he feels his team-mate Rooney wants to achieve big things with the club by saying, “Wayne has always been a winner — and he wants to win with Everton.
“He has come in and had a great attitude straight away. He is using his great experience to help the lads who haven’t been to the places in football that he’s been. Wayne has been superb around the place. He has fitted straight in and it’s definitely not feet-up time for him.
In addition to Rooney, Everton have also made quality signings such as Jordan Pickford, Sandro Ramirez, Michael Keane, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Davy Klaassen which proved that they have intent to win silverware.
