Celtic star reportedly set for a shock transfer in the final days of the window

In what would be a shocking move for him professionally, Celtic center back Erik Sviatchenko is being linked with a return to Denmark to play with FC Copenhagen, according to reports out of Ekstra Bladet in Denmark.

The Dane looked very much a part of the squad under Rodgers, but suddenly has been deemed surplus to requirements this season. Whether this has to do with a failure to settle in or, something else, this is a strange case.

Sometimes players just can’t and don’t fit in to the new areas. They just aren’t able to get up that level, or to ever truly become happy. Even if it’s a good professional environment this can be the case.

Copenhagen, unlike Celtic, were knocked out of the Champions League in shambolic circumstances in truth on Wednesday night and the center half will have to take a pay cut, reportedly, but it looks on the cards and should happen fairly soon.
