Former Newcastle United star Joey Barton has said that Rafa Benitez must stop moaning and start coaching after the Magpies suffered their second consecutive loss of the Premier League by losing 1-0 to Huddersfield Town this weekend.
This loss would have been very disappointing for the Magpies especially as the Terriers are one of the clubs who they could have gained points from having finished above them in the Championship last season.
Benitez was not afraid to express his feelings and publically criticized the clubs board for failing to invest enough money in recruiting quality talent this summer. The Spaniard even admitted that the team are not yet at Premier League level.
However, an unhappy Barton has slammed Benitez by saying, “It doesn’t help when the manager is out there moaning. He is clearly not happy with the situation.
“That definitely festers into the pitch. Yes they do need investment but also, you have got some good players at your disposal. Get them coached.”
