Newcastle United reportedly create a support system for Shelvey

Newcastle United players and staff are set to create a support network for Jonjo Shelvey after he received a red card during the Magpies 2-0 defeat against Tottenham during the weekend.

The England international received his marching orders following a reckless stamp on Dele Alli and will serve a three match ban which means that he will only play again in September.

Shelvey has anger issues and has admitted that he sought assistance from a psychologist after receiving a red card against Nottingham Forest last season in the Championship.

The attacker is reported to have apologized to his team-mates following the game and admitted that his mishap may have cost his team points.

When asked if Shelvey had let him down, Magpies manager Rafa Benitez has now responded saying, “It’s not me, it’s everyone. We have been talking about that for a while. He knows that he had made a mistake, he apologised, but still we lost the game.

“All I’ll say is the rules are the rules and we made a mistake. But we will have to see, analyse everything. We cannot change anything. Now we have to move forward and think about solutions.”
