Stephan McManus has encouraged Celtic to keep hold of young sensation Kieran Tierney. The 20-year-old Tierney recently became the youngest player to captain the Hoops in its history when he was required to deputize for Scott Brown.
Tierney has proven to be versatile as he has been successful whilst playing on both the right and left side of defence and has attracted the interest from a variety of clubs across Europe.
It is hard the youngster remaining with the Hoops for the long- term. He will surely want to play for a side that can offer him the chance to play in the deep stages of the Champions League in the future.
Former Hoops captain McManus believes that Tierney should remain with the Hoops for now and said, “I think he has the potential to go wherever he wants. He’s that good. Big clubs will certainly come in – and it’s up to him to decide. I think just now the best place to keep developing is Celtic.
“He is working under a fantastic manager, a fantastic coaching staff, playing in the Champions League and winning titles. So Celtic is the best place for him to be just now.”
