Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has revealed that he is willing to sell the club to someone who is wealthier than him.
Over the years, Ashley has been criticized by many of the fans of the club for failing to provide sufficient capital for the club to invest in recruiting new talent.
Current boss Rafa Benitez even publically expressed his frustration at the club not giving him sufficient capital to bolster the squad.
The club are said to have attracted the interest from the Far East this summer though no official bids were made.
Ashley has now revealed that if someone wealthier than him comes in with a bid, he will be willing to sell the club by saying, “If somebody would like come along and take this seat and fund Newcastle with a nought on the end with throw wealth more than me, I will not stand in Newcastle United’s way.
“One of the reasons I’m doing this interview is that I don’t think you’ll find there’s many people out there who will actually stand up and do it.”
