As per Dutch publication Voetbal International, Vitesse goalkeeper and Everton-target Eloy Room has returned to training with the team.
The Curaçaoan international was feeling under the weather last week, but was able to shake it off ahead of Tuesday’s training with the team.
Everton are keeping tabs on the 28-year-old, and it said manager Ronald Koeman sees him as an ideal cover and also a worthy competition for newly-signed Jordan Pickford.
Room’s current contract with the Eredivisie side is tickling down into its final year, and the Dutch-born shot stopper isn’t willing to extend his deal.
Vitesse are reportedly willing to sell him for £1.5million, and that’s a huge bargain for a quality goalie with so much experience under his belt.
While Maarten Stekelenburg will very much remain at Goodison Park this coming term, the future of Joel Robles is unclear despite earlier reports of an exit.
If the Spaniard stays, the Toffees definitely won’t be going after Room. There are still full 3 weeks to go before the transfer window closes, though, so a lot of development should be expected.
