Newcastle United have become the favorites to sign West Ham goalkeeper Adrian following the decision from Crystal Palace to turn their attention onto signing PSV shot-stopper Jeroen Zoet.
Palace are looking to bring in a new keeper to provide competition for Wayne Hennessey and Julian Speroni and were looking to recruit Adrian after it became apparent that he could be starting the season as second choice for the Hammers following the arrival of Joe Hart on loan from Manchester City.
However Palace lost interest once they realized that the 30-year-old will find the prospect of playing under fellow Spaniard Rafa Benitez with the Magpies appealing.
The Eagles have now turned their attention onto signing Zoet and will have a good chance of signing him considering that the club is managed by Dutch football legend Frank De Boer and Zoet himself is Dutch. The 26-year-old Zoet boasts nine caps for the Netherlands national team.
