Striker talks about his commitment at St. James Park

The 22-year old Serbian striker, Aleksandar Mitrovic is ready to stay and fight for his place at Newcastle United.

His performances in pre-season have been with a lots of ups and down and lacked consistency. Amidst all the transfer targets that Rafa Benitez has been linked to, Mitrovic’s future has also been an aspect of consideration.

While speaking to the Chronicle, Mitrovic said, “I couldn’t say if I will stay or not because you never know in football with transfers and the window is still open. We’ll see. At the moment I’m here and my head is here.”

The Serbian international realises that his stay at Newcastle might coming to an end unless Rafa chooses him to stay at St. James Park.

The Serbian has netted 3 goals in 5 appearances for The Magpies in pre-season friendlies but he’s future is still a topic of concern for the Toon whether or not to prolong his stay.

Mitrovic is clear in his intention of staying at the St. James Park though and will surely give 100 percent for the team next season.
