Celtic reportedly considering a swoop for African attacker valued at £9million

According to reports, Celtic are weighing up a possible move for Lorient striker Waris Majeed who has been valued at around £9 million.

Altogether the Ghanian international Waris boasts 23 goals from 65 games in total for Lorient and is a quality attacker.

He had a trial with Manchester City as a youngster and also played for the Nike academy while studying at Hartbury College but after failing to gain a work permit to work in the UK, he has since played for a variety of clubs across Europe including Lorient, BK Hacken, Trabzonspor, Valenciennes and Spartak Moscow.

The Hoops have been linked with a number of strikers over recent days, though the link with Waris comes as a surprise.

While the 25-year-old Waris has shown some promising touches during his professional career as well as for the Ghana national team, he has yet to convince that he is truly worth £9 million and it would be a surprise if Brendan Rodgers’ team do buy him.
