Liverpool reportedly lineup European Championship winner as replacement for Coutinho

As reported by The Sun, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp sees Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches as a viable replacement for Barcelona target Philippe Coutinho.

However, he faces a fierce battle for the signature of the Portuguese star, with Manchester United, Chelsea and AC Milan all keeping tabs.

The German manager is keeping his options open as far as getting the perfect player to fill the void his Brazilian playmaker would create if he leaves, nevertheless, Sanches fits the bill despite struggling at the Allianz Arena last term.

The 19-year-old midfielder arrived Munich last summer for an initial fee of £27.5million following his displays for Portugal at the 2016 European Championships.

Having now struggled to make any impact whatsoever under manager Carlo Ancelloti, Sanches is open to a move, with the signing of James Rodriguez and Corentin Tolisso hinting at an imminent one.

Milan, reportedly, recently had an offer of £45million for the former Benfica starlet rejected, meaning Liverpool will have to break their transfer record to sign the youngster.

With such fee and the caliber of suitors interested in Sanches, Klopp is better off looking elsewhere for his Coutinho substitute.
