Everton handed massive boost as target’s move to La Liga giants breaks down

Jeison Murillo

As per Sky Sport Italia, Jeison Murillo’s proposed move to Valencia has hit a snag with the La Liga club refusing to agree to Inter Milan’s £13.5million asking price for the Colombia international.

The defender was earlier linked with Everton as it became clear he wanted to leave the San Siro this summer.

Murillo has been on the Toffees’ radar since 2014, and with their urgent need of a centre-back coupled with Valencia’s refusal to meet Inter’s asking price, there isn’t a better time to make a swoop on the 25-year-old than now.

Jeison Murillo was a mainstay in Inter’s defence last term, playing 27 Serie A games, but he now wishes to leave the club for action elsewhere.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman reportedly wants to add a versatile defender to his ranks, and the Colombia fits the bill.

Murillo is also able to play at right-back, and his ball-playing abilities suggest he could be tried out as defensive midfielder too.

Known for his dribbling and tackling skill-sets, the South American without a doubt can further improve Everton’s defence.

If the Merseysiders were to meet Inter’s and the player’s demands, a move could be on the cards.
