Mundo Deportivo has claimed that Liverpool, amongst 4 other clubs are keenly interested in signing Barcelona winger and Brazil international Rafinha.
The Anfield outfit reportedly reckon he should be worth between £27million and £36million, and wouldn’t pay more than that valuation for him.
Rafinha, 24, enjoyed frequent playing time last campaign under erstwhile manager Luis Enrique, but isn’t likely to have that same opportunity under new boss Ernesto Valverde.
The likelihood of the versatile attack-minded player leaving Camp Nou this summer has also alerted Arsenal, Tottenham and the Milan clubs.
Liverpool currently boast of top quality wingers and attackers within their ranks but can still do with one more.
Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are expected to marshal the wings next term, but there isn’t enough depth in that department, and an injury crisis to one of the duo is capable of deeply hurting boss Jurgen Klopp’s plans and the club’s campaign.
In Rafinha – if signed, Liverpool can count upon a quality backup and stiff competition for their first-choice wingers.
His versatility, which makes him adept in playing across the midfield also brings a lot of options to the table for Klopp. Piping the other 4 major competitors to his signature, however, won’t come easy.
