Former Everton hero Leon Osman has backed the Toffees to complete the signing of £50 million rated Swansea star Gylfi Sigurdsson.
The Merseyside club have already seen a bid of £45 million rejected by the Welsh outfit for the Iceland international Sigurdsson as they look to bolster their side ahead of the new season.
Sigurdsson was not included in his club’s pre-season tour of North America which has led to speculation that he wishes to leave the Swans. At 27, he is arguably at the peak of his career and now is the right time for him to be playing European football.
Club legend Osman has now said that he believes that Sigurdsson will join Everton. He said, “Sigurdsson’s price tag has become so much because Everton received so much for (Romelu) Lukaku.”Swansea have seen Everton have got so much money in the coffers now and the price tag has been inflated.
“But I think once Everton offered £45m, it’s such an incredible amount that the £5m more won’t really be too much of a problem for them.”
