Everton are reportedly interested in bringing Vitesse goalkeeper Eloy Room to Merseyside this summer as they prepare for life without the outgoing Joel Robles.
At the moment, though, nothing concrete has emerged in the pursuit of the 28-year-old Dutch goalie as per what he revealed to De Gelderlander.
In the words of the veteran shot-stopper when asked about the Toffees’ interest, “As long as there is nothing concrete, I don’t even think about it. I can imagine how it would be to go to another club, but it does not matter if nothing has happened.”
Room’s current deal expires at the end of next season, and he has not hinted at wanting to sign a contract extension. It is believed the Netherlands-born Curaçao international will be available for £1.5million.
Robles is reportedly close to a La Liga return, and manager Ronald Koeman wants to bring in a 3rd-choice keeper who will play understudy to Jordan Pickford and Maarten Stekelenburg.
Having played almost 200 games for the Eredivisie outfit, Room boasts of huge experience and would be a great cover in goal at the Goodison Park.
With 5 weeks left to go before the summer transfer window shuts, there is more than enough time for Everton to sign Room or even consider other options.
