According to reports, Merseyside rivals Everton and Liverpool could be set to battle it out for the signature of Inter Milan striker Gabriel Barbosa.
After arriving at the San Siro for £26 million, Barbosa found regular game time hard to come by during his first season in the Serie A, making just nine appearances in Italy’s top flight and scoring only one goal which came against Bologna.
Despite the youngsters less than impressive record for the Italian club, he does have a good record for Brazilian outfit Santos, having scored 24 goals in 83 appearances for the club.
Inter may be open to selling as they may be looking to recoup the cash that they spent to bring in Barbosa last summer.
The player is just 20 and will still develop further so he could prove to be a good buy for either Everton or Liverpool.
Everton have not been shy about spending heavily this summer and it remains to be seen if they will lure Barbosa.
