Everton reportedly plotting a bid for international goalkeeper to replace Robles

As reported by the Daily Mail, Everton are planning a bid for Vitesse Arnhem goalkeeper Eloy Room as they prepare for the exit of Joel Robles.

The Spanish shotstopper has been linked with a summer move to Deportivo La Coruna, and Room has now been identified as his perfect replacement.

England international and summer arrival Jordan Pickford, is set to play in goal as first choice for the Toffes in the upcoming season, while Maarten Stekelenburg plays second fiddle.

Robles’ imminent departure means Everton would be in need of another backup goalie, and the 28-year-old Curacao international ticks all the boxes as far as quality goes.

Room has made over 150 appearances for Vitesse, and has amassed enough experience needed to succeed in England.

The Netherlands-born goalkeeper has one season left on his current deal, and has already rejected a contract extension as he wants to leave.

Vitesse manager Henk Fraser has also confirmed the high possibility of Room’s exit, and a move to Everton appears to be on the cards.
