According to the Sunday Express, Swansea star player Gylfi Sigurdsson is inching closer to a £45million switch to Everton as the Welsh outfit are likely to reach an agreement with the Merseyside club very soon.
The 29-year-old Iceland international wants to link up with Ronald Koeman; Everton’s manager at the Goodison Park next season.
Swansea’s initial asking price of £50million for their prized possession put suitors off, but the club are now willing to listen to Everton’s £40million bid – which includes £5million in add-ons.
Sigurdsson bagged 9 goals and 13 assists last EPL season as he featured for the Swans in both midfield and attack, and Everton’s top-six ambitions next term could be aided by the addition of such spectacular playmaker.
Koeman is leaving no stone unturned in his squad building project at Goodison Park, and a £90,000-weekly deal is at hand for the Icelandic star.
Swansea aren’t likely to keep Sigurdsson against his wishes, and would willingly cash in on him once all paper works are completed.
