Liverpool reportedly interested in prolific 29-year-old striker

According to reports, Liverpool are interested in signing Werder Bremen star Max Kruse, whose manager Frank Baumann has admitted may depart the Merseyside club this summer.

Kruse caught the attention of many clubs as a result of his impressive performances last season, during which he scored 15 goals from 24 appearances in all competitions.

However, Kruse will not come cheap for Liverpool, given that the release clause on his current contract which runs until 2019.

The player did have a £10 million release clause on his contract, which has now expired and this means that Bremen are almost definitely going to increase their price.

Kruse is a forward who can also operate as a number 10 behind the main striker as well as occasionally on the right wing.

He will be a good addition to the Liverpool squad that will be playing Champions League football as well as aiming to challenge for the Premier League next season.
