Gareth Barry feels that his new Everton team-mate Wayne Rooney can help take the Merseyside club to the next level.
The Toffees have been one of the most active teams in the transfer market thus far this summer, recruiting Jordan Pickford, Rooney, Sandro Ramirez, Davy Klaasen and Michael Keane, and manager Ronald Koeman hopes to cultivate a team that can challenge for silverware.
Barry has now stated this is one of the best Everton teams in the modern era and praised Rooney saying, “Wayne coming in has added a lot of experience.
“He knows all about winning so that’s a massive signing for us and a big signing for the dressing room. In terms of depth it’s definitely the strongest.”
Rooney is no stranger to winning trophies, having won 12 trophies during his 13 year stay with United while Everton on the other hand, have not won a major trophy in 22 years and they will be hoping to end that soon.
