Jacob Murphy has joined Newcastle United from Norwich City. The 22-year-old Murphy was said to have been a top target of Rafa Benitez this summer and the Spaniard has finally got his man.
Murphy impressed for the Canaries last season, scoring 10 goals from 41 appearances for the club.
Despite still being a youngster, Murphy has a good amount of experience under his belt, boasting 122 senior career appearances, some of which came during his various loan spells.
Following the completion of the deal, Benitez said of his new signing, “He’s a young and talented player and hopefully he can develop even more here.
“We hope he can show us the passion, commitment and ability that he showed in the Championship last season.”
Newcastle have themselves a young quality, up and coming talent in Murphy and it will be exciting to see how he handles the pressures of playing in the top flight.
